> Alhurra from US on-air: (sh) An US government-financed
satellite news channel called Alhurra has launched for Middle
East. The programm its is broadcast from the Washington area but
has studios in several capitals. US officials said they hope to
counter what Bush has called "hateful propaganda that fills the
airwaves in the Muslim world," referring to the Al-Jazeera and
Al-Arabiya networks. Alhurra is available on several satellites
in PAL and MPEG2, like ARABSAT 2 D, 26 degrees East and 
NILESAT
101/102, 7 degrees West.
