talking in JJ. New statio for me, but not enough detail for a report (Kamp
Oct 12 2003)
1566 SOUTH KOREA HLAZ (FEBC, 250/100 kw) fair 1235-1343:15 GMT with
male/female monologuers in JJ, religious music, 1342
"F-E-B-C...kilohertz..." ID followed by piano music. Carrier cut 1343:15.
New MW country for me (Kamp Oct 13 2003)
Steve Kamp DXing from the Best Westwern Vista Manor Inn in Fort Bragg CA (on
the Pacific Ocean 150 miles NW of San Francisco) using the Grundig Satellit
800/internal ferrite rod antenna. The 4 khz bandwith and 9 khz steps fast
tuning switch made TP searching fairly easy.

Hi,
this week I heard twice a brazilian station playing brazilian pop nonstop on
4875 kHz
(this morning 11 OCT on 4874.94 kHz). Its signal was very strong at 0530
UTC, this
morning I heard a short talk. I think I heard Radiobras mentioned twice, but
I am not
sure. Too strong for a 10 kW Difusora Boa Vista, I think. Still audible at
0650 UTC,
but weak and fading out...
Otherwise Radiobras is on 9665 kHz with a booming signal every morning,
closing at
0700.

I'm a former soviet citizen started as a jazz fan in early 60-s. Voice of
Willis Connover was a real bridge between us ( the soviet underground fans
and western civilization. I'ii be so happy to find his (W.C.) voice
recorded. Especially " This is a Voice of America . Time for Jazz. Willis
Connover speaking. Jazz hour..... followed by Duke Ellington's: Take The
'A' Train .
Could you help me to find his voice? Any other ideas ?
