[HCDX] Logs from NH, September 2
Woke up in the early morning hours and was rewarded
with some of the best listening conditions I have
experienced in months! I am now officially "fired up"
for the upcoming DX season.
3290, GUYANA, VO Guyana, 0906-0917, 02/09, EG, OM w/
birthday wishes and TC, PSA re "Love one another", ID
as "Voice of Guyana, Guyana BC", "Early Bird" prg.
sponsored by KFC, ad for Western Union, mx in lang.
circa 1967. Fair w/ mild QRN.
4975, PERU, R.del Pacifico, 0946-1003, 02/09, SP, End
of prg intro at t/in "..San Antonia.." presumed
religous prg, long tlk w/ ment's "Buenos Aires",
prayer at 0957, OM and YL w/ address ment. Puerto
Rico. OM at 1000 w/ passing mention "Radio Pacifico"
and "Lima" during tlk. Fair w/ increase in noise as
ToH approached.
4995, PERU, R.Andina, 0936-0946, 02/09, SP, Up-beat
mx, either a long song or played continuously, w/
breaks for OM w/ "Radio Andina" IDs. Fair/poor w/
static bursts.
6010, COLOMBIA, LV de Conciencia (presumed),
0922-0930, 02/09, SP, Ballad and up-beat mx w/ OM
between selections. Booming signal until 0930 HCJB
German service s/on, then a battle for dominance b/w
the two.
7280, CHINA, VO the Strait, 1054-1102, 02/09, CH, 2
YLs and OM w/ banter and laughter, Acoustic mx til
1100, pips (5+1) and OM w/ ID then YL over mx until
frequency taken over by "ham" ops. Weak but readable.
7295, MALAYSIA, R.Malaysia, 1004-1036, 02/09, EG,
Dance/pop mx w/ "Boys of Summer" cover by the Ataris,
positive ID at 1011, OM w/ "Woody Woodpecker" zinger
and phone numbers for call-in contest b/w songs,
callers had 60 seconds to (based on what I could make
out) ID various artists, OM introduced a Madonna song
at t/out. Weak but in the clear w/ prop. fades and
mild QRN. Glad to ID this after weeks of "tentatives"
9490, TIBET, Tibet PBS,Lhasa (presumed), 1127-1136,
02/09. EG?/CH, YL w/ presumed EG at t/in w/ mention,
"Please write to us at..", OM and YL w/ (p) ID over mx
at 1130 and tlks. Weak, fading out.
