[HCDX] Shortwave DX logs from Île-Bizard for August 21

Hello to all of you !

Another succesfull DX-pedition to Île-Bizard with my father. I didn`t swim like I wanted, because the vestiary close down at 5:00 PM and by the time we arrived at 5:20 PM it was already closed, but I played chess with my father while listening to RAE on 15345 kHz and they had an interesting concert of tangoes re-transmitted from Radio Nacíonal de Argentina, and this time they were vocal. I liked a lot 1 or 2 of them, the rest were pretty much booring.

No new stations logged, but several tentative catches would have been new if an ID would have showed. Into the report:

5000 VENEZUELA, YVTO, Caracas AUG 21 2327 - Tentatively heard again at this time with time pips, but with much more fadings and this time the signal only reached from nil to weak, it didn`t peak to the poor-fair levels as on AUG 20. (Chiochiu-Î-B-QC)

5010 DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, Radio Cristal Internacíonal, Santo Domingo AUG 21 2321 - Weak with Latin music. Propagation condx on the 60 meters band weren`t good at all, at least not compared to AUG 20 when several Brazilian and other stations were booming in with SIOs of almost 444. This time the only strong signals on 60M were Radio Anhanguera Goiâna and Ghana Broadacsting Corporation Radio One, both on 4915 and Radio Mauritanie on 4845, along with a very few domestics like WWRB-5050. 6000 BRAZIL, Porto Alegre AUG 21 2335 - Tent. w/ excited PP talk by man, well over the Cuban overmodulated RHC 250 kW tx ! Now, PWBR list Radio Guaiba with 7.5 kW, but the logs of Brazil-6000 I seen before were of Radio Gaucha, not Radio Guaiba. Did Radio Gaucha has changed it`s slogan to Radio Guaiba ? 6010 CHILE, Radio Parinacota, Putre AUG 21 2308-2310 - Man in SP, could ID the lang., but the audio was way too poor to understand anything with a strong growl-like QRM on it. The signal was fair, though. It`s not the first time I have Spanish on 6010 in the late afternoons / early evenings, but it always come with the growl-like sound wich makes listening awfull and ID`ing anything even more awfull. I`ll look for it during our next trip to Île-Bizard or to any other places where we can put the wire (maybe this late afternoon ?). (Chiochiu-Î-B-QC)

6060 ITALY, RAI Radio Due, Caltanissetta, Sicilly AUG 21 2326 - Tent. w/ rock music over Argentina ! (Chiochiu-Î-B-QC)

6060 ARGENTINA, RAE, Buenos Aires AUG 21 2319 - Woman talking about the tango concert, // 15345. This was noted on a few occasions, even slightly STRONGER than 15345 wich is unusual. Condx on 49 meters were excellent toward South America yesturday, probably due to the solar activity. TV-FM DX`er Charles Gauthier even seen Aurora propagated signals on TV channels A2-A6 these days ! (Chiochiu-Î-B-QC)

6080 BRAZIL, unID station AUG 21 2226 - Man in PP noted in passing. It could be either Radio Anhanguera Goiâna or Radio Novas de Paz. (Chiochiu-Î-B-QC)

9575 MAROCCO, Medi Un, Nador AUG 21 2214 - with woman talk getting throught the huge splatter from Africa Numéro Un on 9580. This one was much better received at Shediac Bridge, NB. (Chiochiu-Î-B-QC)

9675 BRAZIL, Radio Cancao Nova, Cachoeira Paulista AUG 21 2217 - Presumed w/ man preaching in Portuguese. It`s at least the second or third time I hear this, but I never really sticked around for an ID. (Chiochiu-Î-B-QC)

11915 BRAZIL, Radio Gaucha, Porto Alegre AUG 21 2341 - Man in PP, not sure if // with 6000, because RHC has build to stronger levels and it was more difficult to establish a //. (Chiochiu-Î-B-QC)

11925 BRAZIL, Radio Bandeirantes, São Paulo AUG 21 2236 - Very good w/ soap opera, // huge 9645. (Chiochiu-Î-B-QC)

15345 MAROCO, RTV Marocaine, Nador AUG 21 2141 - The first frequency I tuned to after my father installed the long-wire in the trees, until far-away near a semi-forest ! Heard with soft Middle-Eastern music with female AA vocals. Initially this had the channel to it`s self until RAE begun mixing and eventually overtaking it a few minutes later. (Chiochiu-Î-B-QC)

Also noted presumably Radio Jordan wich was pretty fair in the clear until Radio Canada International signed-on and begun mixing with them, but I don`t remember wich frequency and I didn`t have a pen and a paper to note it down - all this stuff is from my memory !

Also of important notice concerning my report of AUG 20 of Radio Anhanguera Goiana on 11815, I was mixed up with Radio Brasil Central, since the futbol game was // with both 4915 and 4985. Make that 11815 log Radio Brasil Central.
