Hello to all of you !
Yesturday was a fairly good evening for Latin
American medium-wave DX yesturday despite the non-auroral conditions, and
especially considering the spring season and the day-light hours wich are
getting longer and longer, and the D layer of the ionosphere aborb more and more
of energy on the lower frequencies at this time of the year. I have experienced
times during the summer of 2000, the 2001 summer and to a lesser extent (because
of much less extensive DX'ing then) during the summer of 2002, when the AM band
had very few sky-wave signals at local mid-night in June and early July, because
the level of D-layer absorption was too high.
Well, into the logs now:
530 TURKS AND CAICOS, Radio Vision
Cristiana, Caicos MAR 25 0348 - cumbia mx, followed by a spanish gospel
song with ID beetwen the two songs. Also at re-check, I heard SS ads for local
churches in the NYC area after the SS/EE legal IDs of 0400 (2300 in eastern
NA and mid-night in most of the Caribbean). Generally very good !

0407 - with old-fashioned cuban music. Fair in mess.

750 VENEZUELA, YVKS, Caracas, DF MAR 25 0353
- signin off with the YV anthem Gloria al Bravo Pueblo. Poor signal, but just
SLIGHTLY under WSB wich was only fair the past evening.

Progreso MAR 25 0354 - old-fashioned cuban music. Strong to poor with QRM

1180 CUBA, CMBA, Radio Rebelde
MAR 25 0402 - w/ son music getting well throught a strong WHAM.
