Hello !
Can anyone help here: unID stn on 1680 kHz, in the
expanded part of the dial, with Indian music and IDs as ABC Radio and
sixty-eighty AM and mention 10000 watts of power (probably day power, since it
was pretty fadey for a 10000 watts signal, I guess they are running 1000 watts
instead - they faded from weak to nearly excellent). Played a lenghty
Indian movie song at about 1924 EsT (Jean Burnell in NF has heard the same type
of Indian Movie mx on All India Radio Nagpur 1566), then talked in accented
english. Ads mentioning New Jersey wich is odd since the last time I listened to
WTTM, the only NJ stn on this channel, they were sports. Ads were mostly in EE,
though I did hear some in Hindi too. One announcement had a woman in Hindi (or
maybe in very badly articulated english) and the man was in
english.
Usually alone, though exceptionnally (one or twice)
way under, I could hear an urban mx station too.
Any ideas for this weak unID urban music station as
well as for the above strong "Indian" stn ? I don't listen too much on the
extended dial, so don't know the station as well as I know those in the 530-1610
kHz area.
It's not the first time I hear Indian near the top
of the dial (didn't know until a few minutes ago it was actually 1680, since my
great Sanyo rx is analog); I even heard this once in the middle of the night in
November, if this can be of any help.
Thank you very much !,
73 and good DX and hopes everyone who can get this,
keep listening !,
Not much in the way of LA DX finally, though -
except for weak reception of 1 or 2 regulars like Caicos-530 or
Venezuela-640;
