[HCDX] Help needed for a Watkins-Johnsons HF-1000

Hello!

A friend's HF-1000 has been hit by a lightning through the power line, that 
also burnt his computer (that's why I'm sending this message for him). The 
antenna was disconnected, but not the power line; so, keep in mind that 
during thunderstorms you must disconnect antennas *AND* power line!

The receiver powers on, but it doesn't work, all lights are on and the 
display shows only lots of "*****".  May be the software is corrupted, may 
be the receiver suffered major damage. This weekend a set of old eprom's is 
going to be installed, keeping fingers crossed just in case the fault is in 
the software only, but this would be a lucky chance indeed.

When Watkins Johnsons left the market for SW receivers, its Italian branch 
in Rome closed. So, the question is: Does anybody know where is now an 
official repair service for WJ receivers in Europe?
