[HCDX] logs aug 29/30/31
Mostly standard receptions, except for the spurs on 5675 and 5696.
The US coast guard is NOT amused by the R. Prague spur on 5696 !
All receptions done in Curitiba, Brazil, using an Icom R75, a homebrew T2FD
antenna of 15 meters in length and a random wire of about 20 meters length.
Full or partial reproduction of these logs is allowed.
ECUADOR, 3279.55, Voz del Napo, 2313 UTC. Andean choral music, not quite
the same stuff they broadcast on weekdays. ID at 0003, SIO 233. (Riel, aug 30)
BOLIVIA, 3310, R. Mosoj Chaski, 0007 UTC. Andean music, female announcer in
quechua w/ station name at 0038, SIO 433. (Riel, aug 31)
BOLIVIA, 4716.74, R. Yura, 2336 UTC. Typical andean music, spanish female
announcer at 2349 w/ station ID, SIO 433. (Riel, aug 29)
PERU, 4746.93, R. Huanta, 2354 UTC. Andean music, station ID before the
commercials at 2355, news & ID at 0000, SIO 333. (Riel, aug 29)
ECUADOR, 4781.35, (tent) R. Oriental, 0014 UTC. Spanish male announcer,
tent station ID & frequencies followed by music, SIO 322. (Riel, aug 30)
BRAZIL, 4785.06, R. Caiari, 0014 UTC. Portuguese talk program,
commercials(?) and station ID at 0023, SIO 322. (Riel, aug 30)
BRAZIL, 4794.94, R. Difusora Aquidauana, 0026 UTC. Commercials for various
companies in the Aquidauana region followed by station ID and announcements
of various parties, SIO 333. (Riel, aug 30)
PERU, 4950.14, R. Madre de Dios, 2225 UTC. Andean music, spanish language
male announcer. Station ID at 2230, SIO 333. (Riel, aug 29)
PERU, 4995.6, R. Andina, 0120 UTC. Andean music followed by talk program,
station ID by female announcer at 0152, SIO 344. (Riel, aug 31)
PERU, 5005.16, R. San Miguel, 0037 UTC. Latin / andean music, spanish
male announcer, ID "Radio San Miguel" at 0052 UTC, SIO 233. (Riel, sep 1)
CHILE, 5675, Voz Cristiana (mixing product from 6070 and 11745?), 0142 UTC.
Talk program in spanish with male and female, followed by some music and
Voz Cristiana ID and jingle at 0159, SIO 122. (Riel, sep 1)
PERU, 5678, R. Ilucan, 0110 UTC. Standard Andean music, regularly interrupted
by a male announcer. Station ID given at 0126, SIO 344. (Riel, aug 31)
PERU, 5699.86, R. Frecuencia San Ignacio, 0040 UTC. Lots of mostly non-stop
andean music, station name jingle at 0105, SIO 233. (Riel, aug 31)
CZECH REPUBLIC, 5696 USB (spur!), R. Prague, 0215 UTC. Seriously distorted
R. Prague audio in USB mode, spanish language program. Not recognisable until
the R. Prague IS came on at 0228, SIO 442. (Riel, aug 31)
CZECH REPUBLIC, 5696 USB (spur!), R. Prague, 0200 UTC. The spur is back,
no signal noted on either 6704 or 8994 so the spur isn't symmetrical around
either 6200 or 8994. US Coast Guard much louder than the R. Prague spur,
but with obvious communications problems (because of R. Prague??). (Riel, sep 1)

ICELAND, 13865, Ríkisútvarpið, 2310 UTC. News and current affairs in
Icelandic, talking in-depth about the middle east and Bush around 2313,
soccer scores around 2330, SIO 333. (Riel, aug 29)
MADAGASKAR, 17580, Radio Nederland, 1410 UTC. Economic news in Dutch,
followed by stock quotes at 1416, news at 1419, signoff with dutch national
anthem at 1424, SIO 133. (Riel, aug 31)
SAUDI ARABIA, 21495, (pres) BSKSA Riyadh, 1152 UTC. Slow (religious?) Arabian
music, sudden signoff without announcement at 1157, SIO 433. (Riel, aug 30)
MADAGASKAR, 21480, Radio Nederland, 1145 UTC. News and current affairs in
Indonesian, RNW jingle at 1151, SIO 433. (Riel, aug 30)
CHILE, 21500, Voz Cristã, 1158 UTC. Religious "commercial" before TOH,
station ID and news in portuguese at 1200, SIO 555. (Riel, aug 30)
UNITED KINGDOM, 21515, BBC, 1203 UTC. Musical program with what sounds
like short news items. Female presenter gives BBC URL and mentions 'Iran'
at 1219, SIO 233. (Riel, aug 30)
BONAIRE, 21590, RNW, 2023 UTC. Signoff of the dutch language program,
followed by IS and english language signon. News, europe unzipped, insight
on Saddam Hussein and then roughly speaking, SIO 344. After 2100 UTC the
signal strength went up significantly, very nice Music 52-15 today, SIO 444.

discussion with the artist in german, ID at 1255, SIO 544. (Riel, aug 30)
FRANCE, 21685, RFI, 1445 UTC. Current affairs program, followed by RFI
IS and ID in multiple languages at 1457, SIO 344. (Riel, aug 31)
SOUTH AFRICA, 21725, Channel Africa, 1350 UTC. Talk program, switching to
Environmental World with ID at 1355, weak signal but better than // 17780
which seems to have a slight echo, SIO 233. (Riel, aug 31)
FRANCE, 25820, RFI, 1130 UTC. News in french, followed by RFI jingle and
current affairs at 1130, SIO 233. (Riel, aug 30)
