[HCDX] US PsyOps

> From AFP, 31oct01
>
> THE United States has hijacked Taliban radio frequencies in the militia's
> headquarters city of Kandahar and started broadcasting messages and
> music, the Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) has reported.
>
> US propaganda broadcasts had warned people in the region to keep
> away from the Taliban and told Taliban soldiers to leave the militia
> because "they would risk death," the Pakistan-based AIP said from
> Kandahar.
>
> But people in the city told the agency said they were ignoring the
> broadcasts as US "propaganda" which could not be believed.
> The militia has its headquarters in Kandahar which has been heavily
> bombed since air strikes started on October 7. The Taliban leader Mullah
> Mohammad Omar was based there and accused terrorist leader Osama
> bin Laden also has a house there.

Have I missed something? As far as I've seen - all that "Information Radio" is using is 8700 kHz USB. Only ONCE have I seen Information Radio reported on medium wave - and that was'nt on any of the MW frequencies announced (657 and 1107); it was on 864 kHz on October 28th for ONE of the two daily broadcasts.

Dont we agree that the BBCM with its monitoring-stations in Pakistan - and Uzbekistan? - would be able to hear any broadcasts on MW from the PsyOps plane flying over Afghanistan.

So would it be wrong to conclude that the US propaganda broadcasts are more or less non-exsistant in Afghanistan, since we all know that 8700 USB can hardly be received by anyone in Afghanistan.
