[HCDX] PSYOPS 8.700

Hi List,

Hearing now in New Zealand. Readability 5. Yes, USB Glen - sorry about
that. It was so close to the other station I thought half of it was
buried in it the other night. Today it faded in around 0330 UTC with
long narrative/commentary with alternate music and singing including
women singing (that should infuriate the Taleban). Yes, definitely
Afghan music although one item I could have sworn was out of Africa -
the rhythm and hollow drum sound. Could have sworn I was listening to
Nigeria. But there has been plenty of mentions of Taleban, mullah etc.
by 0400 signal has increased by a couple of S points.

Duane posed an interesting question about getting a fix on this station.
Well for what it's worth here are my observations.

1. On the R5000 with an 80 foot long wire pointing to the Americas, the
station is just readable.

2. At my other location using a much modified FRG7 and a multi dipole of
indifferent length, but running NW - SE, the station is very readable.
The CW station close to it is about the same on both setups.

3. The only thing concerning me is that I thought it unlikely to hear
the Middle East at that frequency and at this time of our DAY. It is
about 2 hours before sunset.

I am no expert in propagation but would love to hear others opinions.
