[HCDX] I'm looking for vintage BBC audio.
I hope this is not too far off topic.
I'm a US based public radio producer, and I'm doing a piece about the cuts
in BBC World Service transmissions for a program called "On the Media." I am
looking to gather bits of BBC audio to create a portrait for the listener
who has not encountered the WS via shortwave.
The things I'm looking for include: reportage of historic moments,
pre-streams programming like "Farming World," and the Merchant Navy program.
Also, I'd like material like the Queen's Christmas message, the classic BBC
announcers cadence, the measured gaps and silences between programs, vintage
Big Ben etc.
And it would be particularly lovely if I could get a frequency closing
announcement that was the same as one of the frequencies being cut.
If any has any tape like this, or can point me in the right direction,
please contact me off list.
David
