[HCDX] 1530
What you heard was WDJZ-1530 from Bridgeport, CT
with its usual Portuguese-language programming.
Your best bet for Brazil would be Fortaleza on
760, sometimes noted at local sunset here in
Massachusetts after WVNE sign-off.

Subject: [HCDX] UNID brazilian on 1530 kHz AM
Hello !
I'm an active mediumwave DX-er who lives in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. 2 days
ago, on 1530 kHz, I have heard my first brazilian. It was at about 5:20 PM
Montreal Time. They did play a futboll game in poruguese. They have several
commercials after the game, the news at 6:00 PM and then a brazilian
pop/rock
show with a jingle after each 2 or 3 song. The signal was quite strong, but
mixing sometimes with WSAI was noticed, sometimes well over WSAI with
LOCAL-LIKE signal, but sometimes it was well under WSAI with the WSAI
dominance on this channel with american nostalgic music format.
That's it for today !
73's and good DX !
Bogdan
