[HCDX] Year Two
January 22nd, 2001--International Listener celebrates its second birthday on
the world wide web--a hobby site of seven pages laden with constantly updated
information for the shortwave listener (the main jobs are weeding out dead
links and adding new ones). The main page has grown to 78 home pages of
world band radio stations, with 69 links that launch live or on-demand audio
feeds--40 of the most popular are on a drop-down menu. A further 99 links
play back specific programs--56 are on drop-down menus. There are links to
further collections of stations, as well as schedule sources.
The "Shortwave Links" page leads to 54 news sources and 193 shortwave and
radio-related sites. There's now an International Listener search engine,
plus links to 17 other popular search engines. The "British Radio" page has
London and UK stations, and launches 46 different livestream broadcasts.
There are links to 28 British newspapers and magazines, numerous broadcast
schedule sources, plus other fun UK stuff like webcams, panoramas, tourism
sites and Beatles stuff. The "Television" page has 38 video feeds and TV
collections, plus 57 TV program sites. The "Library" page is full of
suggested reading material, and the "Multimedia Software" page leads to free
software for listening to all this great stuff.
This may be a bit of a commercial, but my site itself has never had an
advertisement. It's a hobby. It's for fun, just like the shortwave
listening hobby it glorifies. And after these circa-33,000 hits, I want to
thank all of you for your support.
