[HCDX] Thanksgiving Pirate activity
Here are several Pirates broadcasting around Thanksgiving 2000.
Radio Free Speech Relay (several of these, URGZ, Voice of SW Radio and Voice
of Bizzaro World, as follows) on November 23, 2000 on 6950 kHz.
URGZ November 23, 2000 0017 - 0051 UTC* on 6950 kHz. Song "The Bird". Then a
talk on shooting the bird. Talk on the workday grind. Comedy bit on "Dirty
words in the Times". "Pocket Pool Man" song. "Wanker Rock N' Roll" by I've A
Biggen. Song, "I've Got Hair on My Hand" by Doctors For Bob. "Program of
URGZ". SIO: 343 QRM: RTTY on 6950 kHz. At 0051 UTC Bill O Rights then said
"Radio Free Speech Relay".
Voice of Bizzaro World November 23, 2000 *0107 - 0150* UTC 6950 kHz via
Radio Free Speech relay. "Exo broadcasting from Bizzaro World Signing Off"
played several times at the beginning of the broadcast. Yes, the beginning
of the broadcast as things are bizarre in Bizzaro World. Address given as
"35614 Huntsville, Alabama PO Box 11522." "Flash, News Flash from Bizzaro
World." Techno pop music played. Talk on mental health in Bizzaro World.
Visit from Bizzaro Communications Commission. "Public Unservice
Announcement." Telephone number 800 449-6281 Pin 02000119 (I called and it
didn't work). SIO: 343 QRM: RTTY on 6950 kHz.
Voice of Shortwave Radio November 23, 2000 *0051 - 0106* UTC on 6950 kHz.
Female announcer said "Please have your fake ID ready". Song "I Am Home
Again". Del Shannon's "Run Away" song. Chubby Checker's "The Twist". Fats
Domino's "Blueberry Hill". Email address given as VOSWR@xxxxxxxxxxxx SIO:
343 QRM: RTTY on 6950 kHz.
Then Bill O Rights came on and said he's not Pat Murphy. "See Yaaaaaaa".

WHYP November 23, 2000 6950 USB 0228 - 0254* UTC with "1st Dysfunctional
Thanksgiving Broadcast. James Brownyard's 34th Anniversary". Talk on who was
James Brownyard. Independent label punk music played. Special report on
election 200 possible write in candidates that now can be counted as per
today's Florida Supreme Court decision. "This is WHYP where news is first.
WHYP, WHYP Northeast." Holiday message from Big Mike at Pirate Radio WBIG.
Mentioned new antenna being used and asked for reports. "From us here at
WHYP Happy Thanksgiving." SIO: 454 Very strong signal. However, the last
WHYP bc I heard, around Halloween, was also very strong.
Sycho Radio November 24, 2000 6950 USB. Unfortunately, I only heard 0204 -
0206* UTC. Talk on "I will kill you." Then, "Sycko Radio 6950 MHz. Thank you
for tuning in. We're off the air." SIO: 454
Radio Z100 November 24, 2000 6955 USB 0206 - 0233 UTC. Many 70's and 80's
rock hits played. Many "Z100" IDs. Someone else on 6955 USB was complaining
about the mx being played. They said "Shit, I can listen to regular radio
for this." Also whistling. Heavy jamming at times. SIO with QRM:422 SIO

KRMI Virginia November 24, 2000 6949 USB with SIO 444. Unfortunately, only
caught from 0233 - 0237* UTC. Song "Set Your Radio Free Screw the FCC". QRM:
Spanish bc on 6950 kHz.
Ritzia Al Seka. Not exactly sure of name. It sounded like what I wrote.
Heard November 24, 2000 6950 USB 0308 - 0326 UTC fade out. "More fun than
finding a baby ruth floating in a swimming pool." Listener letters. Mention
of Monique. "More fun than watching your dog wipe its ass on your carpet."
Spanish mx played. List of top 10 clandestine stations. SIO: 322 QRM:
Spanish bcers on 6950.
