[HCDX] VS: Unids 4790 and 4769

Thank you, Noel, for the info. That explains the program style and
the rather weak signal strength. I might be all wrong (I usually am,
says my wife :-) in assuming the API-8 unit is used for VOJKF
programs on 5101.1 kHz. I recall seeing this kind of speculations
in the DX-bulletins a while ago. For couple of days I've been
monitoring 5101.1 and 4790.4 kHz between 1430 and 1450 UTC.
The Voice of Jammu Kashmir Freedom (VOJKF) usually closes
down abt 1432. It takes about 2-4 minutes and the carrier on
4790.4 appears. Sometimes a 1000 Hz tuning tone used,
sometimes not. Audio switched on abt 1445. The signal strength
is about equal on both frequencies.
Does the schedule you have, mention API-8 is engaged on some
other frequency (7265?) while VOJKF is on the air? At my location
7265 is heavily occupied so I can't monitor them here.
This all is very interesting. Thanks again, knowing your experience,
I'm sure you can give us more info about this matter.
