[HCDX] Weekly DX News

HAWAII  6350U, AFN, 1100-1200, Strong with  Pop/Rock music, lady host, CNN
news at 1150, AFN ID at 1200.  (Valko 7 Oct.)

CHAD  6165, RNT, 2122-2213, Talk by man in FR with mention of Rwanda, and
occasional Hi-life music.  More Hi-life music.  News at 2200-2206 by man
with actualities including one with ID outro by journalist ending his
report at 2204.  Discussion by several men, live speech segment, mention of
Ndjamena.  Fairly strong with QRM from Zambia till it went off.  (Valko 8
Oct.)

ZAMBIA  6165, ZNBC, 2203*, Instrumental NA later matched up with one on an
Internet site with NAs, 20 second tone, and off.  Heard "Your Song" by
Elton John prior to 2200.  QRMing co-channel Chad.  (Valko 8 Oct.)

CHINA  5010, CPBS, 2230, Peaking nicely during the typical short evening
opening.  Several canned announcements including one with discussion
between man and woman and ending with both in unison.  Pause at 2230
followed by clear ID by woman in CH.  Canned announcement (program intro??)
by man with music.  Gone at 2255 recheck.  (Valko Oct.)

UNID.  5024.8, 0935-0942, What sounded like ZY ballads, man announcer at
0940 but just too weak to verify it was PT and too weak for ID.  Back to
music.  I'd bet it was Transamazonica.  (Valko 11 Oct.)

PERU  5025.01, R. Quillabamba, 1000-1014, Program of campo music with
occasional announcements by live man.  ID almost immediately after tune in
"....Desde la cuidad de Quillabamba, Principal de ?? ??ciendo de
Departmento en Cusco, Republica del Peru, transmite R.
Quillabamba...amanacer, senore y senores R. Quillabamba...'Musica Amanacer
Nacional (program??)".  Must've just missed sign on.  Fair and clear with
Cuba off this morning.  (Valko 11 Oct.)

Conditions fair, but Oceania/Asians still down in the mud.
