0930- 9710- LITHUANIA- R.Vilnius in EG, 0930-0937, IS, M / ancmt & ID s,
pgm preview, M / tlk, px abt Lithuania. Fair (Serra, Italy, 8 / 20)

0936- 6210- GREECE- Voice of Greece , 0936 man in greek with a lengthy
comentary on greek histo. Signal S3-4 at +1 db //15630 is S6 a +10 db //
9420 with S9+20 Iowonder if this is a main freq or a product (Liangas,
Greece Aug 27 )

0938- 3234.87- PERU- R. Luz y Sonido, 0938-0946, Long excited talk by
man with mentions of Peru, TC. Into OA campo song 0945. Song
announcement, simple "Luz y Sonido" ID, TC, and talk by man at 0948.
Mention of onda corta and phone number too. Heard under pulsing UTE
here. Tough. Not heard in some time. (Valko, USA 12 August)

0953- 4826.37- PERU- R. Sicuani, 0953-1007, Unbelievable signal!!! Talk
by man in Aymara. Beautiful campo mx. More talk. Program possibly named
"Nuevo Amanecer". Some laughing. Possible mention of onda corta.
Amazingly fast fade at 1000. Within 9 minutes, it went from very strong
easy copy to barely audible!!!! Not due to sunrise either (Dunlo sunrise
at 1022, transmitter at Cusco almost an hour later). All northern,
Asian, and Oceania signals nothing at all. Southern signals not as
affected. Just incredible weird conditions!!! (Valko, USA 12 August)

1018- 3275- PAPUA NEW GUINEA- R. Southern Highlands, 1018-1024, Talk by
man with mentions of Karai, "...radio station...", Southern Highlands,
and "...R. Southern Highlands studio". Sounded like a detailed program
schedule. TC. Nice official ID with TC during talk at 1023. Into native
choral music. Good signal. All PNGs on except 3345, 3375, 3245, 3385,
3395, and 4890. (Valko, USA 19 August)

1023- 3290- PAPUA NEW GUINEA- R. Central, 1023-1033, Talk by man with
community bulletin board for events in August and September. Guitar
music with ad by man with mention of 15 September, Goroka, "enrollment",
and R. Central. Ad with discussion between man and woman with mention of
Central Province. Into C&W music. Muffled woman took over at 1036. Good.
3305 also on but pretty weak. (Valko, USA 19 August)

1040- 3220- PAPUA NEW GUINEA- R. Morobe, 1040-1048, "Celebration" by
Kool and the Gang. Muffled woman announcer (sounded same one as on R.
Central!!). Song announcements, TC, ID, mention of "...Celebration
continues long ?? the day". Good and one of the best. (Valko, USA 19
August)

1049- 12085- MONGOLIA- Voice of Mongolia 1049 In English, with Mailbag
program, hosted by woman. Very readable with strong signal and slight
flutter. That is until 1055, when signal dropped off mid-program. (Fine,
USA 14 Aug)

huayno ID "Radio Luz y Sonido presento el Ãngelus.." mxf  (Arrunategui,

1058- 4880.8- PERU- R. Comas, 21/08 1058-1142 44444 mxf ID "Radio Comas
en su nueva frecuencia, 4880, a nuestros oyentes del interior,
escribanos como nos escuchan y le estaremos enviando un lindo polo de

1629- 11730- TUNISIA- RTV Tunisienne in AR, 1629-1636,  // 17735 (F/P),
M / tlk mix with pop mx, AR song. Good  (Serra, Italy, 8 / 22)

1630- 5799.87- CHINA PR.- Xinjiang XJ PBS, 1630 with folk songs with
woman giving titles before the songs in Uigur Signal is S9max or 33433
 on normal AM)with FSK on 5797.75 . Clear at +1.3 kHz Closed 1656

1700- 21815.1- COSTA RICA- RFPI checked for 5 and 6/8. ON 5-8 signal was
just marginal on 1700 ( 14132) with  slightly better signal on
000( 24232) , but on 6-8 signal was much better ( up to 34333) for after
1930 .There was not necessary to use DSP or even NB to listen to it .

1706-  6070- CANADA CFRX 1706 Noted with local weather and traffic
report.  CFRB 1010 ID. The audio is finally up to a decent level.
Station was waiting for replacement parts per email from Jim Ducharme.

(S7)1712 man in arabic with talks 1715 with folk songs 1724 man speaking
in a local lang mixed wit AR words , 1735 with ID hamza . Sawt Sudan
with references to internet then continuous talks afterwards Not on 10
or 12 MHZ Signal on 8 mHz was better at 32332 while on 9 mHz signal
sufered from an FM-ish noised type audio modulation (Liangas, Greece Aug
29)

1727- 3320- SOUTH AFRICA- R S Grenze 1727 with songs "stand by me then
with power of love from J Rush ( refered by the speaker in africaans .
Nice signal at S9 or 33333 over noise level of S2 strong QRM from pirate
harminics (Liangas, Greece Aug 26 )

1733- 4975.98- UGANDA- R.Uganda in EG, 8 / 30, 1733-1741, M / W loc
topical nx with corresp.s, ment Uganda, Kampala. (QRN statics, QRM
slight splats). F / P   (Serra, Italy)

1738- 17720- PHILIPINES -Radio Pilipinas 1738 In English, talk by man
and woman in an apparent phone interview. Fairly strong signal, but made
difficult to understand due to periodic QRM from co-channel R Romania
Int'l (also in English and apparently replacing 17735). Romania signed
off at 1756, allowing Pilipinas to take over the channel. Parallel 15190
also heard, equally as strong at times. (Fine, USA 14 Aug)

1746- 6430- CLANDESTINE- Mujahed.... 8/6, 1746 man with comments on
communists and Mujahedeen in Farsi . Signal 32xx2 /S7 full of ARQ QRM
(Liangas, Greece)

1755- 4800- LESOTHO- LNBS (pres) 1755 with rock songs , at 1800 with an
ID however refered to Burundi (??) , then with afropop and man in VN( a
hausa like lang) speaking after the song at 1801 . Fast talks at 1816
.fair signal st S8  ,33333 on AM normal (Liangas, Greece Aug 26)

1758- 3365- INDIA AIR- New Delhi, 22-8, 1758, with mostly religious
plays , YL in Hindi then again relig plays , S7 or 34333 (Liangas,
Greece)

ID, at 1805 drum beat into M / African  nx with corresp.s. Fair  (Serra,

, man in 1814 with talks in amharic but onl lower moduation . The 6940
was clear with minimal QRM from operators (34333) however 6209.98 is
with a bassy tone Both have nearly the same signal (S6) (Liangas,

ancmt into "press review" with mx breaks, ancmt with poss ID, pop songs,

heard clearly at 1947 from speaker s voice ( a little better signal; )

1913- 5650- CLANDESTINE Unid R. (pres. Clandestine) 1913 with folk
afghani type songs , man with rhymed taped (?) ID reel giving " hayom
baro yarazon abadi " told several times over he rhymed reel then with
another songs ( heard as ecjhoed) 1924 Again on 1931 with ID reel then
oepn carrier . I wonder if this comes from R V of Mujahed (Liangas,
Greece Aug 26)

1926- 21815- COSTA RICA-RFPI at 1926. Though S5 at +16 db preamp seems
to be quite strong with SIO 343 (Liangas, Greece, 8/ 20)

1939- 15820 - ARGENTINA- LRA .... 1939 with ads and later sports program
//29810 (better signal) Though 29 slot does not erquire NB the 15.8 slot
requires NB (Liangas, Greece, 8/ 20)

1942- 6285 -PIRATE EUROPE-  R.Spaceman, August 5,  1942 -2141 mostly
with older pop songs and signal 33222 afterwards 24222 ( levels 7.5 to 5
later) with QRM from a RTTY on 6288 with S7 level. Generaly voice was
very dificult to e listened mainly due to low signal as well as the high
level of noise Lang EG (Liangas, Greece)

2045- 11734.07- TANZANIA- Radio Tanzania Zanzibar 2045,a Talk by woman
in presumed Swahili, into regional music at 2047. Very strong signal at
this time, but weak audio is obliterated by China Radio Int'l on 11735.

2047- 4450- CLANDESTINE- V of Salvation 2047 , man with talks in KO ,
music and hymns Signal S7 max with carrier co ch QRM , 33333 (Liangas,
Greece)

2048- 6305.95- PIRATE EUROPE- R Laguna, August 5, 2048 - 2144 consisting
mostly wioth rock songs with ID by man on 2051 and with many comments
arnd this time by a woman . QRM from some whistles and signal 5-8 with
mean 6 . SINPO 33325 with a cit off for ??? minutes after 2100 tunein
again in 2130. Lang GE /ENG (Liangas, Greece)

2054- 12140- ISRAEL- Kol Israel 2054 with arabic songs , adverts onm
telecom then news in arabic Signal S9+20 or 444444 (Liangas, Greece Aug
26)

2059-  4103.15- CLANDESTINE- V of Kurdish..'., in man arabic with short
news ( heads?) with small interval songs ID at 2059 then with arabic
songs .MOd: C+ USB , 44423 with very fast and deep fades (Liangas,
Greece Aug 29)

2114- 14565- PIRATE EUROPE- R. Blandengue in LSB, 8/5,  2114 and then
with amusic programming and much speaks after 2135 . Signal 13131 or S2
with full preamp while Noise level was S4 ( deleted thru NB) seems to
have a carrier with it (?) (Liangas, Greece)

2140- 15820- ARGENTINA- relaying R Cidado in LSB, 21-8,  with mostly
self ads at 2140. Heard also "trio Argentina , R Rama National , then
with news ( ??) SIO342 or S3-7 with 16 db gain (Liangas, Greece)

2154- 7255- NIGERIA -Voice of Nigeria 2154,  Business News, in English,
followed by Sports news at 2156. Main points of news given by woman at
2158, with ID at 2159, then continued past 2200 with more English news.
Changed to French at 2202. Very strong, crystal clear signal. (Fine, USA
26 Aug)

2201- 19694.5 - BRAZIL-  Rio Mar, 21-8,  with news at 2201, carrier is
S9 audio is S3 (Liangas, Greece)

2205- 4915- BRAZIL- CBN Arhangura, 21-8,  2205 clear with 24332 with
programng from R de Brazil (Liangas, Greece)

2210- 5955.6- BOLIVIA- R. Pio XII, Siglo XX; 5/08 2210-2248 33333 ID "En
este aniversario patrio, siga n disfrutando de nuestra mÃsica nacional a

2353 another announcement with mention of Huancabamba. Weak with

GERMANY-"Ostdeutscher Rudfunk Brandenburg" full data QSL, station
sticker, program schedules, and a  postcard with a photo of the "Fritz
Soccer 2000" team on it for the Fritz Radio special broadcast July 8,
2000 on 9525 kHz. They also returned $1 US I had enclosed for postage

SWAZILAND- QSL from TQR 3240 Letter sent on 29.4 and reception received
2.7 sender and signer: Mrs Stavropoulos ( greek person) Letter included
