For the past several days KPAM-860 has been running non-stop news
bulletins from the WWII era. The booming of Pearl Harbor, the end of the
war, etc. Maybe they are getting ready for their format change to Talk
as they announced last Fall.
KPAM-860 is now News-Talk, ex Rel AC as of 5/1/00. They call
themselves "Radio Free Oregon" for a slogan.
I've got my northern antenna back in place and I notice no CFCP-BC.
Apparently they have gone to FM along with Red Deer-700 and CKTA-1570.

Heard on a Chrysler model 4469088 with a 20' dipole antenna, GE SRIII 7-
2887A made in China:

670 KLTT CO, Commerce City 4/29/00 2130 lighting up the pilot light
and at first I thought the signal was falsing on KBOI's stereo
signal but they were preaching to the world in stereo.
680 KNBR CA, San Francisco 4/30/00 2315 lighting up the stereo pilot
light and at least in wide mode with sports scores.
760 KFMB CA, San Diego 4/29/00 2311 with Super Trivia. Lighting the
       pilot light and in stereo.
820 WBAP TX, Ft. Worth 4/29/00 2135 with a political talk show about
Elian Gonzales, what else is on all the political talk shows?
Fighting it out with XEFTA and when WBAP came through it lit the
stereo pilot light and was in stereo.
1010 KXEG AZ, Phoenix 4/29/00 2139 with REL music on guitar. Most of
the programs are preaching so it is mono in two channels then,
but when they have a music program it is in stereo. They had the
pilot light on and in stereo in this instance.
1070 KNX CA, Los Angeles 4/30/00 2328 lighting up the pilot light off
and on under KDUS splatter with ID at 2330 and KNX Drama Hour.
1150 KCKY AZ, Coolidge 4/29/00 2142 with SS REL program. This station
has always been terribly overmodulated to the point of pain in
the ears. They had a tremendous problem with bad modulated
sidebands but appear to have corrected the problem this week.
Pilot light on, mono in both channels and distorted as hell.
1170 KVOO OK, Tulsa 4/30/00 0034 with a road construction report from
ODOT, state highway department during trucking show. In stereo,
lighting the pilot and had ID in stereo.
1450 KTYM CA, Inglewood 5/2/00 0800 with TOH ID and then into
preaching. Faded shortly after. [ new ]
1530 KCMN CO, Colorado Springs 5/2/00 0755 IDing as "Legends 1530,
KCMN" then into weather with a temp of 42F.

Had a falsing for a considerable amount of time on 1560 with KNZR during
Dodgers broadcast. Who else is on 1560 with a stereo signal?

Does anyone know which Victoria MW stations are leaving MW for FM? I
have heard CJVI & CKXM are. Anyone know and when are they leaving MW?

We have an application in to the CRTC and hoping for approval by July/
Aug for launch in the Fall. Please keep enjoying the 'oldies' for now...
and I'm sure we'll come up with something you like if we 'flip' to FM

Many thanks to all who responded to my question (about transmitters
being located in different states than the city of license - ed). About
a nanosecond after I clicked on "send" I remembered I'd heard somewhere
that WFAN and WCBS' xmtrs were in New Jersey.
For any of you West Coast types who might be interested, KXXT-1340
here in Santa Barbara is now KIST again.
That brings up another question. Does anyone know of any station that
has more than 2 other stations using its tower(s) as an antenna? Here in
Santa Barbara, both KIST and KZBN diplex (or would you call it triplex?)
off KBKO's tower; all 3 are ND. It's weird to see 3 STL antennas on the
same tower.
