CHINA 11590 CNR Beijing 2 1200-1210, Mandarin, short announcement, then
into slow Chinese pop-music, fair to poor (Roth Jan 28)

CHINA 11630 CNR Beijing 1 1210-1220, Mandarin, talk with music-bridges,
fair signal (Roth Jan 28)

TAIWAN 11775 CBS Taipei 1230-1235, Mandarin, non-stop talk with
phone-in, fair signal (Roth Jan 28)

INDIA 11585 AIR Bangalore 1235-1245, Vn, classical Indian music with
short announcements, excellent signal (Roth Jan 28)

INDIA 11620 AIR Aligarh 1245-1250, Vn, Hindi film songs with short
announcement in possibly Burmese, //11710 with much better signal, clear
channel but very weak (Roth Jan 28)

INDONESIA 11785 VO Indonesia 1250-1255, Vn, sounded like dangdut songs
but was a bit difficult to copy, clashed badly with VOA out of Udon
Thani, possible only in USB (Roth Jan 28)

SRI LANKA 11905 SLBC Colombo 1257-1315, Tamil, folk-music followed by
six time pips on the hour and ID 'Me Sri Lanka Biduli...Velanda...', I
would have expected something else as this is a frequency of their Ext.
Service (if I´m still up-to-date that is), probably a home service
relay, but at 1310 'This is the All Asia Service of Radio Sri Lanka',
very funny indeed, since when do they throw announcements normally only
used with the external service into a home service relay ? Also, since
when do they relay the home service on this frequency ? Fair to poor
with deep fading but rather strong peaks (Roth Jan 28)

PHILIPPINES 11995 FEBC 1315-1320, English, short item about Cebu and
replay of some American congressman´s talk about East Timor and the
region, weak with deep fading but surprisingly strong peaks (Roth Jan
28)

PHILLIPINES 9405/9415 FEBC 1310-1330, Mandarin, at the same time as
11995 (on one of the other receivers) - 9405 with rather better signal,
lots of ads and talk, also on 9415 but not //, both with rather fair
signal, 9415 with western pop and announcements in Mandarin but slightly
weaker (Roth Jan 28)

CHINA 9390 CNR Beijing 4 1335-1345, Vn, slightly Arab-sounding music
with short announcements, probably the Uighur service, weak signal (Roth
Jan 28)

PHILLIPINES 9670 Radio Veritas 1400-1410, Bengali (or was it Hindi?), ID
on the hour 'Namaskhar, Radio Veritas Asia, Quezon City He', talk with
Pope John Paul mentioned and frequent mention of Bangladesh, then into
pop-music, fair signal (Roth Jan 28)
