** AFGHANISTAN. Kabul radio announces Ramadan changes 
Text of report by Afghan Taleban radio on 6th December 

The morning programmes of Radio Voice of Shari'ah which start at 
present at 0600 hours [local time, 0130 gmt] will start as from the 
first of Ramadan at 0630 hours [0200 gmt]. The evening programmes of 
Radio Voice of Shari'ah, which start at present at 1700 hours [1230 
gmt] will start from the first of Ramadan at 1530 hours [1100 gmt].

** AUSTRALIA [non]. Glenn, Re 99-68: Cynthia is a dingbat. You 
certainly haven't missed anything enlightening from her. She has done 
some really stupid things and said some even stupider things. She's 
from DeKalb County, east of Atlanta. (Phil K6EID Cobb County west of 
Atlanta)

At the risk of taking sides in Atlanta neighborhood (racial?) 
politics, I say judge for yourself from her website. Headlines from 
her News release file indicate she is an environmentalist, *gasp* 
liberal; for instance:

** CUBA. Estimado Glenn: 
Te informo que desde el sábado 20 de noviembre sale al aire ?Para los 
Diexistas? a través de Radio Rebelde por O.M. en 670 y 710 Khz y los 
5,025 Khz de la banda Tropical de los 60 metros a las 12:03 horas de 
Cuba, 05:03 UTC. El mismo se transmitirá cada sábado a esa hora

y 01:35 (lunes) para las Américas y a las 21:55 UTC (domingo) para 
Europa. Sigo en la Revista de la mañana de RHC como informaste en 
?Mundo Radial? en tu informe DX mensual de noviembre y diciembre y

** EUROPE. UnID on 3930.5, Dec 4 0240-0830+, very weak with Euro-
pops. DJ with British accent. Too weak to catch ID. Euro-pirate? Or 
S. Africa?s Capital Music Radio as reported on WOR? (Brian Alexander, 
PA) That was speculation, and later reports from Europe indicate it 
is a pirate there (Hauser)

** GREECE. From the ERT5 printed schedule for B-99, program schedules 
in Greek, and my own monitoring I have put together this schedule of 
VOG in English [precise times for English segments are not given by 
VOG itself]:

** IRAN [non] Re: 7520 R.international: Glenn, probably the address 
radio7520@xxxxxxxxx is not correct. I have sent many Messages split 
in several pieces as suggested by Mail Administrator and the last 
message sent was a blank as attachment; this too has returned!

** IRAN [non]. Further to my report on this new Iranian clandestine 
(see G Hauser's Shortwave/DX Report 99-68 issued yesterday):

On Sunday I e-mailed the station at radio7520@xxxxxxxxx but it 
bounced back with the message "This user does not have a yahoo.com 
account"

I'm not sure what to make of this. The address was read out very 
clearly by the station and "makes sense" (7520 being their 
frequency). Perhaps there's been mis-coordination between whoever set 
up the e-mail address and whoever prepares their scripts.

As per announced schedule, the station was NOT on the air yesterday
(Monday). 7520 is an excellent frequency choice as it's a completely 
clear channel, also clear either side, at 1730. (Chris Greenway, Dec

** IRELAND [non]. New management at RTE have decided to consolidate 
SW operations via the Merlin network only, so unless they can be 
persuaded otherwise, in a week or two the relays via WWCR will cease, 
M-F 1930-2000 and Sat/Sun 2000-2030 on 12160. WWCR was RTE?s original 
SW outlet starting several years ago. Still audible in North America
daily 1830-1900 via Sackville 13640, and is it still 0130-0200 via
England 6155? I see in the latest sked via Wolfgang Bueschel that DTK
is registered then with other programming (Glenn Hauser)

** MOLDOVA [non]. Recently I received via fax the sked of RADIO 
MOLDOVA INTERNATIONAL from 31.10.1999 to 25-03.2000 as follows...

** MONACO? TWR on new 6240, Dec 4 *0012-0100: s/on with TWR IS, 0015 
into English religious programming with TWR ID, Xmas music; English 
to 0045, then unID language to 0100. Poor to fair with occasional 
RTTY QRM. Site? Via Monaco? Heard past several weeks (Brian 
Alexander, PA)

** SWEDEN. R. Sweden's English section celebrated its ``jubilee'' 60th 
anniversary with a special hour-long program ``party in studio four'' 
on Wed Dec 1. I only found out about this by listening to the ``week 
in review'' on Fri Dec 3. Here George Wood provided brief excerpts 
from this special (four minutes from an hour long show). My problem 
is that nowhere beforehand was this special promoted on other DX 
programs or, as far as I heard, R. Sweden itself. The station's 
program schedule gave the impression it would be ``celebrated in the 
new millennium''. 

How lame. This is just another example of a station failing to 
promote its own SW programming. Oh yeah, George Wood said that if you 
missed the original show (and I presume many did) those with 
computers could hear it on the Internet for the entire hour. Those

audience of guests who've worked with us over the years, we listened 
to recordings of past  programs, and talked to commentators, 
international broadcasting colleagues, listeners, and Radio Sweden
voices from the past.

** TAIWAN [non]. Elementary Mandarin lesson for Russians about 
numbers caught my ear on very strong 15695 signal next to WOR Tue Dec 
7 at 1335. ID at 1340 for Mezhdunarodnaya Radio Taibei, announcer 
Vasily Mikhailov. Must be WYFR relay now for RTI Russian too (Glenn 
Hauser, OK)

** TURKS & CAICOS. Attention Arctic Radio Club: you stole an item 
from one of my previous DX Reports by deleting this source, without 
which it would never have reached hard-core-dx or any other DX 
bulletin. Any club or publication that violates the requirement at 
the head of every GH SW/DX report will be exposed in this way (Glenn 
Hauser, OK)

** U S A. Y2K department: I heard Harold Camping on a Family Radio 
call-in program debunking in detail the idea that the world was 
created by God in 4004 BC, as some creationists have claimed. I 
almost thought that Camping had embraced evolution, but then his 
follow-up statement was that the earth was created 13,000 years ago 
instead (which I am sure is important news to some of the millions of 
years old fossils!). Camping did make one point I agreed with: anyone 
who thinks that God will do something dramatic to end the second 
millennium should look back to the year 1993, because most Biblical 
scholars have determined that Jesus was born around 7 BC, not the
