AR7030 MEM function (was: Re: [HCDX]: Drake R8A / Icom R75)

Karel's message could leave the impression that it is more difficult to do a manual scan downwards than upwards. This is not correct. While it is true that the "default" setting is scan up when pressing MEM, one only needs to press "-" and MEM to begin downward scanning. Pressing MEM again will scan one more step down. If one wants to scan upwards again, press "+" and MEM. The receiver remembers the "direction" of the manual scan as long as it has power on.

Anyway, what Karel correctly points out, doing a manual scan of the memories is a simple, one-touch method with the remote control. I have configured the memories so that American MW frequencies are organised from MEM 053 to 170, while "European" MW frequencies are placed upwards from there.

I do miss the opportunity to scan the memories with the tuning wheel though, similar to the NRD-525.
