A bit of radio history...

Radio El Mundo is one of Argentina's oldest and more
historic stations. In the early 1940s, Eva Duarte was
co-leader of a drama production company that produced radio
novelas (radio soap operas) for Radio El Mundo and Radio
Belgrano. Her company's novelas were the most popular in
the country at the time. A few years later she met General
Juan Peron, a member of the ruling junta. Peron later
became the sole president of Argentina and Eva Duarte
became Evita Peron, one of most interesting women of this
century (she even had a movie starring Madonna made about
her ...).

Some DXers may remember when Radio El Mundo was on
shortwave. I've got them QSLed from back about 1980 or so.
Radio Spendid and Radio Belgrano were also on SW in those
days.
