Re: [HCDX]: beverage question
I have a wire 40 meter in length, directly on the ground, that
performs very well for tropical bands and high medium wave fqys. I am
also using one conventional long wire and a noise reducing antenna
constructed by a friend. Very often the groundlevel wire outperforms the
other two antennas, for signal to noise ratio. I must add that I benefit
from all powerlines being underground.
My friend experimented with an underwater antenna in the canal behind
his house with the result of high noon[local]reception of longwave
signals from Providence, R.I. As I recall, a motor boat ended this
experiment.
Hope that this is of some interest and will encourage comments on
shorter ground level antennas for the tropical bands.
