1059- 9700- NEW ZEALAND- Radio New Zealand Internat., Rangitaiki, 31/12, 10:59, countdown to New Year. Speaker announcing 7 instead of 6 time pips because of leap seconds. However, only 6 pips were played. At 11.00 UTC New Year announcement and New year gathering reports from Auckland, Christchurch and other cities. SINPO 45444. (Schaay, The Netherlands)

1110- 4725- MYANMAR-Myanmar Broadcasting System 1110-1120 Noted a woman in news/comments. Signal was threshold Bolland, USA December 26, 1998)

1158- 11940.36- CAMBODIA- National Voice of Cambodia- *1158-1114- On w/OC at 1158- dead-air- then Asian instru. mx w/voice-over EG ID anmnt by W as "This is the National Voice of Cambodia- this is the Nat. V. of Cambodia- broadcasting from Phnom Penh the capitol of ?? of Cambodia....on the freq of 1360 ?? khz in the ?? 25 meterband". Then lcl mx w/M vclist from 1202-1214. M anncr in lang. w/unreadable anmnt at 1214- and into another lang. pgm. Weak and choppy signal but fairly clear. (Valko- USA 17 Dec.)

1225- 7075.8- UNID- UnID R. 1211 Man's voice, then solo chanting that didn't sound like Qur'an but rather seemed to revolve around a single note. No audio discernible after 1225. Weak, choppy, periodically wiped out by ham SSTV; began to fade out around 1230. This could well be V. of Shariah, Afghanistan, but not enough useful evidence to call it even tentative. 1228- 9620- INDIA- AIR External Service 1228 New/unlisted freq for Sindhi service, noted with IS till 1230, when s/on announcements by woman followed by subcontinental vocal. Weak and choppy; also heard on //s 11585 (strong but echoey/fluttery) and 6165 (very weak), so it supplements those two listed outlets rather than replacing either of them. (Hill, USA Dec. 23)---

1550- 11959.80- MALI- RTV Malienne, Bamako, 21/12, 15:50, folk music on string instrument.SINPO 22442. My ears lost track of them shortly after 16.00 UTC, but the AR7030 kept its AM-Sync in perfect lock. After retuning to the frequency a little later, the 7030 locked to a weak signal on 11960.0 kHz. This could have been Tehran inTurkish or maybe Mali had drifted 200 Hz in the mean time. Re checked at 17.43 UTC, when it was definitely Mali with a male French speaker on African affairs. SINPO 34222. Frequency was spot on 11960.0 kHz now. Blocked by carrier from VOA Kavala from 17.45 UTC. (Schaay, The Netherlands)

1732- 11885- SEYCHELLES- FEBA 1732* Ending Somali broadcast with ID and IS, then cut carrier. Fair with some co channel QRM from presumed RFE-RL; clear on // 9810. The 25M freq not listed in PWBR. (Hill, USA Dec. 18)

1822- 7085- ERITREA- V. of the Broad Masses of Eritrea 1822 Typical Horn of Africa instrumental soon joined by male vocalist. Closed down at 1830, then // 7100 went off about 20 seconds later. Both channels severely QRM'd by hams. Possibly 7085, a former VOBME freq, replaces 6190. (Hill, USA Dec. 24)

1847- 3905- INDONESIA- RRI Merauke 1847 with dangdut songs man then with quranic preaches.(Liangas Dec 19 Thessaloniki Greece)

1858- 6920- UNID- Unid R., 1858-1902 , song 'unbreak my heart" clock the Chinese way (3 tones and one high pitch ) , YL heard in unknown lang due to very low signal possibly Mongolian. Signal was 13131. tune in on 1937 with just a very low trace of signal on SSB mode (Liangas Dec 27 Greece)
