DX NEWS

RAMADAN - Ramadan will begin on December 20th this year. (Veldhuis/DSWCI
DX-Window / van den Boogert-HOL / NASWA LN Dec.98)

RAMADAN - About the start of Ramadhan, according to the Islamic
calendar, it should be started at December 20th, 1998 on Sunday.
However, the date is only calendar calculation. The real date of
beginning Ramadhan has also to watch / to see the moon, and the
statement of the beginning Ramadhan can only be stated by the Islamic
leaders. The beginning of Ramadhan is not always same for every country.
It is according to whether the moon can be seen or not. (Akbar Indra

HORACIO A. NIGRO - I am informing now to any interested people that ONLY
17 FDC with their stamp affixed and First Day cancelled REMAIN IN MY
STOCK NOW!!! The Post Office took away the FDC rubber stamp today.  Dec
1 dateline has no value. Cost: 5 IRC or equiv USD. The FDC is a generic
one with no special design or drawing for the event. Normal cancelled
Carve stamps are included on the returned SAE envelope, two for
envelope, at no extra cost.(Nigro-Uruguay,  Nov 12. Previous email

HAROLD SELLERS - Hi Gentlemen: Re the following logging in TFW 73:  
2106- 5835- RUSSIA- Radio  Netherlands via Kaliningrad, Russia,
2106-2127* on  Nov. 6...........Fair. (D Angelo, USA / FCSP),  I checked
Radio Netherlands' website and they list the site for this transmission
as Petropavlovsk. Apparently they stopped using Kaliningrad as of the
B98 season. Too bad, I want Kaliningrad too! 73, Harold
