The R-7a had the digital readout as a standard feature, also the 500 Hz CW
filter, and the noise blanker was included too.
I am told the PS was improved.
The important thing about the digital display was that it made the "pure R-7"
into a general coverage receiver. In its "pure" form it only covered the ham
bands!!!
