followed by s/on  in  Chinese. Program  of  long  talks  with  some 
music during the 1220/ 1230  period. IS repeated three times at 1230
followed by woman with opening  English  ID:  ?This is the Voice of
Mongolia.?  She gave broadcast times  and  frequencies. Immediately into
a feature about student athletic competition  arranged by Mongolian
Welfare Association. Fair to good at tune  in  but  slowly  fading  down

3+1 time pips,  Chinese  and  English  opening Ids followed by news
program.  Taipei Magazine,  with  an  interview of the Foreign Minister

1258- 11940.36- CAMBODIA- National Voice of Cambodia from 1258 and they
dominated the channel from 1302 - 1313* today.  YL anncs across top of
hour into long running SEA mx.  At 1302, the usual QRM signs off and for
the best copy heard in some years from this QTH.  Note the recording at
NU S&S, at approx 18 seconds into the recording, note that the QRM goes
completely away at sign off leaving a very clear frequency. (Rippel, USA

interrupted at 1600 by a man with a Joplin esque pianotune in
background. Didn't hear the textbook ID. Excellent signal and by far the
strongest between 3200 & 5700 kHz. Exactly one day later hardly a signal

western pop records and man in presumed BI in too low a voice. Very

pop mx pause, brief M ancmt, W sermon, pop mx pauses & M ancmts (poss ID
& fqy quote), clear IS & S/OFF at 1701. (QRM ute at times) Fair (Serra,
Anzio, Italy 11/ 18)

1653- 11750- QATAR- QBS, 1653-1700, AR vocal music, 5+1 time pips, AR ID
by man, usual musical signature opening AR news by man announcer.   Very
strong but audio level slightly low.  (Valko, USA 8 Nov.)

1657- 15120- NIGERIA- V.o.Nigeria, 1657, End of feature, woman with ID,
program run down, schedule, and her name, then usual IS. Good.  (Valko
USA 8 Nov.)

1705- 4760- INDIA- AIR Port Blair 1705-1730* Subcontinental music with
ID in vernacular, announcement in English and again vernacular,
'Akashvani...' and abrupt close down, in parallel with 3223, 3245, 3315,
3345, 4775, 4800, 4840, 4920, 4940 & 5040. (Pijpers, The Netherlands Nov
7)

1730- 9900- CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC- R Minurca, fade in began around
1730, signal peaked after 18 and started to drop off after 2130. Good
loudspeaker wide filter level (on HF-150) for hours. Radio Netherlands
on 9895 no problem. After 2230, the weak signal was overridden by a
stronger signal and tone at 2245 that turned out to be Cairo in English
at 2300. I thought I could hear some music through the pauses between
words and sentences; I have no idea how long Minurca stayed on. Not one
bloody ID, announcement, nothing except the most ecletic bunch of music
I've ever heard: rap, African "native" music (whatever that is), oldies
(would you believe the Coasters?), blues. Lengthy dead air gaps (30 / 60
seconds at times) between records from time to time. These guys
definately need a music program director and an announcer or two. The
next day (Nov 16), fade in again around 1730, better signal,  mostly
native music to 2245 when tone started up. But better signal than on Nov
15, and this time taped a 7 minute announcement by a woman in French
2100-2107, giving a number of frequencies and a number of clear IDs. I
excerpted two IDs given in a 12 second spot for posting at
<http://www.trsc.com/sounds.html> (Sundstrom, NJ USA Nov 15,16)

1755- 4440- CLANDESTINE- Unid Middle East R. 11/10, 1755, first noted on
this fqy with M unclear tlk, then jamming & sudden S/OFF after about 30
seconds. Jumped on 4470, with lcl mx & M tlk, then s/off few seconds
later, followed by brief jamming.  Again on jammed 4440, then on 4420
and again on 4440...hrd till 1803 to avoid a nervous breakdown (hi
!)...but found again on 4620 first, and then on 4630!! Impossible for
catching an ID. Poor (Serra, Italy)

1805- 7210- QATAR- Qatar BC Service in AR, 1805-1819, M nx (with ID)
till 1818, mx break, W M tlk. (QRM splat) Fair (Serra, Italy 11/12)

1805- 4010- KYRGYZSTAN- Radio Bishkek 1805-1830 Woman in presumed Kyrgyz
presenting 'near-Eastern' popmusic. No Ids, presumed. Some Utility qrm,
still a moderately good signal. (Pijpers, The Netherlands Nov 7)

1819- 17870- SOUTH AFRICA- Channel Africa in EG, M African topical nx,
with corresp.s and interviews, instl mx pauses into FR pgm at 1830, no
ID hrd. Fair (Serra, Italy 11/12)

1835- 1834.98- MALI- ORTM in Vern, 11/14, 1835-1846, M tlk, lcl chants
with drums sound, tlk. Fair (Serra, Italy)

1846- 9499.98- SEYCHELLES- FEBA R. in FR, 1846-1855, rel chant, M promo,
class mx, W/ ID, W / M ancmt, mx pause into pgm Emmaus (rel pgm by M /
W). First time hrd with a very strong local signal, like an European SW
Super Station !!! Good ++ (Serra, Italy 11/12)

1935- 6265- ZAMBIA- ZNBS, starting to come in at 1935!!  A het on
5993.2, presumably from Malawi.  (Valko USA 8 Nov.)

1948- 5015- TURKMENISTAN- Turkmen R. (pres), 11/10, 1948, lcl strings
mx, M ancmt at 1953, hymn, M tlk at 1900, poss ID, tlk by W for poss nx.
(QRM strong slow beep beep CW, QRN rustle) F/P (Serra, Italy)

2020- 4753.3- INDONESIA- RRI  Ujung  Padang,  2020-2144  carrier  cut 
on Nov. 7, interesting  mix  of music with choir vocals and middle
eastern type music. Carrier  cut  in  the  middle of a long talk by a
man and woman about Ujung Padang.  Fair. (D Angelo, USA / FCSP)

2023- 26470- USA- WJFP Ft Pierce, FL, 2023-2042 fade out on Nov. 6 with
host Jumpin  Joe  with  numerous  local  ads  and  PSAs  and  hip hop
music with announcements  for continuous jazz station.  Apparently on
91.2 and 107 FM. Great when in but very deep fades. (D Angelo, USA /

2025- 4850- UZBEKISTAN- Uzbek R. in poss Uzbek, 11/08, 2025, lcl chants,
IS, pos ID, ancmt at 2030, M tlk. F (Serra, Italy)

2031- 5940- RUSSIA- Voice of Russia World Service. Nov 6, End of news;
ID into "Russian By Radio" program. EG  34333 (Field, USA/ FCSP)

2052- 5985- CONGO- R. Congo, 2052-2101*, African hi-life music, man at
2100 in FR with brief announcement including mention of Brazzaville. 
2101 instrumental melody with voice over ID announcement by man and
woman "....Radio Congo la social nationale radiodiffusion ??
Brazzaville....", some dead air, and off at 2102:13.  Fair with some

2106-2127* on  Nov. 6 with Dutch language program, talks, saxophone
music, identification. Two  minutes  of  dead  air  before carrier

arabic ID at 2130 ".... arabia ke saudia ..." New tune in on 2149 with
quran  verses. 34433 NOTE: Very clear sounds Is it suiharmonic as usual
? Did n t try however. This is  possibly the 3rd. Try to listen them in
this QRG (Liangas, Greece,  Nov 15)

2132- 4940- CHINA PR- Voice of the Strait (presumed), 2132-2147 on Nov.
7, mix of Chinese talks and lively music.  Poor to fair.  (D Angelo, USA

2134- 9568.4- CLANDESTINE- Voice of the Iraqi People, 2134-2212 on Nov.
5, with nice middle eastern vocals and long talks to 2200 ID and
newscast. Fair  to  good  reception  with  a  het  at  2200  from

2140- 9990- PAKISTAN- R Pakistan (tent) 2140 man with news in EE , with
continuous refs to Pakistan 2145 with hindi type songs. NO ID however
34433 (Liangas, Greece Nov 15)

2148- 4777.1- INDONESIA- RRI  Jakarta,  2148-2225  fade-out on Nov. 7
with vocals until SCI  at  2158, Jakarta news at 2200 and more music

2156- 4925- INDONESIA- RRI  Jambi, *2156-2245 fade out on Nov. 7, IS to
RRI Jambi ID by woman at 2158 followed by SCI.  At 2200 another RRI
Jambi ID followed by  local  news with many items about Jambi. At 2206
choir vocals followed by  a  long  preaching  type  talk  by a man.  At
2219 music program began. Another  IS  at 2230 followed by more long

2230- 4850- CHINA PR- China Nat'l Radio 1 2230, English language
teaching program in Chinese. Used "Tie a Yellow Ribbon" as the basis
for  the lesson, a la the BBC's "Pop Words".  Heard well until
