[HCDX]: RVI on 3995 kHz

* RVI will add temporarily a mid-summer SW frequency to the French and
German
language programmes transmitted between 1900 and 2000 UTC that normally are
only available on 1512 kHz MW. This is done because of insufficient
propagation of the medium wave signals at that time. A DTK transmitter will
be rented at Jülich and will be using 3995 kHz. The French and German
language programmes are only broadcast on Saturday and Sunday.  French
1900-1930 UTC and German 1930-2000 UTC on 1512 and 3995 kHz. This service
will be available only between 2 May and 15 Aug. (RVI Golfgids)

* RTBF, the Belgian French language network that ceased SW operation in 1992
is thinking about joining the community of international broadcasters again
at the instance of French community politicians. Three possibilities are
under investigation. The first is that RTBF will rent airtime on RVI/VRT's
shortwave transmitters or on DTK Jülich. The second one is renting an audio
subcarrier on the French language TV5 station and the third one is
broadcasting via the Worldspace satellite system. It will take probably
several months until a decision is made and the money for the project is
