[HCDX]: EDXC Conference 1998 (fwd)
EDXC CONFERENCE 1998
The biggest annual DX meeting in Europe, the European DX
Conference by the European DX Council will this year be held in
Gothenburg, Sweden from Thu 27th of August till Sun 30th of
August. The venue is Radio Museum, a very interesting place even
itself, and the conference will be organized by The Swedish DX
Federation and the Radio Museum volunteers.
The conference agenda contains many interesting items. A visit
to the Radio Station Grimeton is one of the highlights. Grimeton
is a part of radio history, a longwave station on 17,2 kHz still
possible to run, and now on the UN List of preserved buildings.
Talks and group sessions will naturally be included as well as a
reception hosted by Teracom, and of course the traditional EDXC
banquet.
Note that the Grimeton transmitter will be tested on May 28th.
More information later.
The conference fee is 850 SEK (950 SEK after 15th of June) and
it cover your registration, lunches, excursions, receptions and
banquet. You have to arrange your accomodation by yourself.
There is a good selection of hotels, youth hostels and
campingplaces with cottages available. There is, however, a
bigger fair in Gothenburg up to Friday the 28th of August, so
you are adviced to book early.
