Yes, but you are looking the situation from NZ.  Here in Scandinavia
signals from NA traveölto us over the North Pole. If A is high there
is aurora & absorption on polar routes -> signals from NA disappear.

BTW, this morning Jan 10 trans-Atlantic reception was back; I heard
WQEW 1560 & WTOP 1500 & WNRB 1510 around 0700Z.  According to
predictions A is going down -> NA opening is possible.
