0055- 7475- GEORGIA- IBC Tamil *0055 Subcontinental vocal and
announcements in (what else?) Tamil; lots of ads and/or promos. Oddly,
many references to "Tamil" but none to "IBC." Into what sounded like a
sermon; followed past 0115. Pretty decent signal, but reception spoiled
by buckshot from filthy audio of WJCR/7490. ---HILL, MA USA, Nov. 25,
26, 27
0328- 7235- GEORGIA(?)- AWR 0328 Unlisted service in subcontinental
language with ID and Pakistan mailing address, then ID in English. At
0330, ID in Farsi and continued in that language. I'm guessing Georgia
location because of languages and erratic audio quality. ---HILL, MA
USA, Nov. 29
0340- 15167.32- TAHITI- RFO Papeete, 0340 & 0414-0425 Nov 26, weak
carrier first noticed here at 0340, even though RNZ Int'l signal on
15115 was sub-par. Nice fade up, albeit brief and still weak, for talk
by man seemingly in French at 0414-16, thereafter only threshold bits of
talk to 0425 tune out. The usual distinctive transmitter growl, however,
was unmistakeable. Presume still daytime local pgme as I confirmed not
// France Inter on 5054.9. Reactivated after some 4 weeks of absence, so
our assumptions of RFO's ultimate demise have proven premature,
yet-again! ---CLARK, Ont Canada
0345- 4015.1- CLANDESTINE- V. of the People of Kurdistan (Iraq) *0345
Segued selections of martial music; several "Dangi Gelli Kurdistan" IDs
at 0352. Went into Arabic at 0400 // 4080. ---HILL, MA USA, Nov. 29

0505- 3450- LIBERIA- R Veritas, Monrovia, 0505 Nov 26 - not detected
here or on 5470. Was still detectable past 0600 on Nov 22nd, as was Star
Radio on 3400. ---CLARK, Ont Canada
0523- 5880- LIBERIA- Star Radio, Monrovia, 0523-0528 Nov 24, typical
format of talk by man in local language with short intervening bridges
of drums. Fair with some fading. Here instead of 3400 this date
(only-?); noted back on 3400 kHz again Nov 26 at 0505 w/solid carrier
but low audio. ---CLARK, Ont Canada
0553- 9809.96- KIRIBATI- Radio Kiribati, 0553-0607 Nov 22, island
vocals and chatter by usual female announcer in EE, ID at 1558, island
music again to Herb Alpert trumpet fanfare at 0600, then talk by man in
local I-Kiribai lang. Woman took over w/talk continuing at 0607+.
Fair/fluttery signal at
tunein; weaker by 0605. First audio in several months here (although not
checked that often) and surely early stage enhancement with major storm
getting underway. A index 0 but 0600 K 4. USB mode as usual.
---CLARK, Ont Canada
0615- 3316- SIERRA LEONE- SLBS, Freetown, 0615 Nov 22, very weak with
music and talk by man that was unreadable as to language. Presume this
which has seemingly been typically off the air of late, and/or the
transmitter has seriously deteriorated. ---CLARK, Ont Canada
0630- 9675- PAPUA NEW GUINEA- NBC Port Moresby, 0630-0704 Nov 22, just
a carrier at tune-in but obviously strengthening and into weak audio
before 0645. Further improved to fair level with island vocals across
0700 and subsequent anmts by woman in accented English between songs.
Prior audio from Kiribati was tip-off this should appear, major storm
commencement nothwithstanding. Then also noted Solomons 5020 at
surprisingly good level near xmtr SS at 0710. Only very weak 31mb Indo
carriers noted 0715 on 9552.3 and 9741.8 (the latter now very difficult
due to HCJB on extended winter sked on 9745). ---CLARK, Ont Canada
