Radio Pyongyang has been down a lot lately. They do a varying but small
percentage of scheduled broadcasts, and give up the rest. Power shortage,
or too busy jamming RKI, RFA, etc.? In the past few weeks, Japanese was
heard only on 3250 and 6070 most of the time. Both are weak. 3250 is
Pyongyang BS, and 6070 is the KCBS transmitter for 6100. The feeders
3560/4405 are always up. The real frequencies for Japan are 6520/7580/9650.
All these were down on most days. I didn't hear them all in a week. I had
been working on this since August.
BTW, the Frontline Soldiers Radio on Nov 25 broke a month's silence and
aired KK 1400-2000 on MW 1613. It's off again tonight. Still nothing on
shortwave 2625 and 3025.
