I'd like to invite you to join the swltalk mailing list; it's
a low-traffic mailing list primarily dedicated to alerts of
real-time DX events, although not necessarily restricted to
them.  The focus is shortwave, but many of the recipients of
the list also listen to MW.

I'm making this suggestion because your posting to 
hard-core-dx regarding Norway-1314 arrived in my mailbox
around 1800 UTC on Saturday, a LONG time after you sent it.
This is because Risto "runs" ths list manually -- he approves
each message that comes in, and as a result there's a
built-in latency.  I've been maintaining swltalk as an
unmoderated list, and messages get distributed in near-
real time.

To join the list, just send a "subscribe swltalk" message
to majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx  More information is on the page
http://itre.ncsu.edu/radio/swltalk.html along with info about
the #swl IRC chat channel (which I also invite you to drop
in on if you're so inclined).

By the way, Al Merriman built me a DL-2 from your design, and
I love it.  Thanks for your hard work.

And here are my comments:

  Yes, it is true that I run the list "manually". It means
  that I have to approve the emails and check that they are
  appropriate for the Hard-Core-DX to guarantee high signal to
  noise ratio and to change subject to different categories.
  Mailing list itself is far away from manual. It is based
  on Majordomo 1.94.3 that runs on Linux server (rko.iki.fi).

  Currently the server is only Pentium 60MHz with about
  3 gig of disk space (yes, I finally bought 3.24 gig disk!).
  But I already have a mother board that supports Pentium
  75-200 MHz with MMX and perhaps in September will upgrade
  the system to 150/166/200 MHz Pentium or AMD K5/K6.

  What comes to delays last weekend....  we moved. I am sorry
  I didn't inform about this and that delays were expected.
  We moved from room to another, changed phone lines, 
  furniture and stretched carpets in whole house. Because of
  this we had to switch my server off for nights and had to
  keep them offline many hours on Friday and Saturday. We are
  now settled and delays shouldn't be very long anymore.

  Hard-Core-DX will continue to be moderated - I already have
  to filter some spams and totally unrelated topics away from
  the list. With more than 300 subscribers it is one of the
  best resources for DXers in Internet.

  I hope you have enjoyed it and will enjoy even more
  in the future.
