Hannu Pylvalainen OH6MEC, Lievestuore, FINLAND
The Finnish Amateur Radio League's broadcasting radio station, Radio
Hami, is broadcasting ham related program during the annual hamvention
July 10 13, 1997 in Laukaa. Transmitter frequency is 102,6 MHz FM using
50W mono output. Program includes topics for amateur radio operators and
DX listeners not forgetting music and news reports from hamvention
happenings.
This year Radio Hami's broadcast is relayed also to medium waves (MW).
Hami AM is operating with 4W carrier power on 1584 kHz. The output power
may be about 50W if the components for the power amplifier are delivered
in time from the USA. MW broadcasts begin on Thursday, July 10, at 2000

antenna tests it may be possible to hear the signal also before the
official opening at 2000 UTC.
We hope that especially DX listeners may listen Hami AM's broadcasts! At
night time you can give your report to the live show, give your regards
to other listeners and make your wishes for your favourite music. Hami
AM's telephone number is (international) +358 800 1 3694 (free in
Finland). Any written reception reports are highly appreciated. Radio
Hami's personnel will check your reports with care and verify them with
a QSL card. The longest distance report will be rewarded with a special
award, too.
We hope to get your reports concerning bearability in Europe, broadcasts
quality of voice and any interference during day and night time. Any
information of your receiving situation is also valuable for us. The
results will be later published in an article in the Finnish DX
Association's monthly magazine, Radiomaailma. Please mail your reports

As an radio amateur's experimental project the Hami AM is an unique and
a historical happening. The last AM radio broadcast stations used by a
non official authority were ceased in late 20 s when the Finnish
Broadcasting Company was founded. At those days operating with low power
AM broadcasting played a rather important role in Finnish amateur radio
clubs.
So, enjoy the historical feeling and listen Hami AM Laukaa on 15 84.
