640 KGVWt MT, Belgrade 12/1 0200-0230 Have heard from several DXers that
this station did indeed run march music instead of sacred
music for their DX test. May send taped report to station.
TIS/Other
530 WNSB415 CA, South San Diego 12/6 0845 Station is back on the air with
"test" tape loop in English by accented man. Currently all
English. Tape loop mentions calls and transmitter location
(CA-905 @ Beyer Rd.)
1650 TIS CA, South San Diego 12/7 0520 NEW STATION now on the air at the
Otay Mesa border crossing (CA-905/125, several miles East of
I-5 border crossing). Tape loop about customs regulations is
almost identical to the one used by the long-defunct station
that used to be on 1610 kHz at the I-5 (San Ysidro) border
crossing. Male announcer, all in English. Gets out very
poorly. (TRH-CA)
DX
670 KLDC CO, Commerce City (?) 12/7 0800 Have noted a REL station hear
with good signals hear every morning, mixing with KBOI and
KWNK. Still looking for ID. Not sure if these are still the
right calls and city-of-license. (TRH-CA)
"International"
---------------
540 XETIN BCN, Tijuana I get a lot of requests from DXers regarding the
schedule of this station. Station used to run 1300-0405 UTC,
but for most of November, I noted they were running a new
schedule of 1400-0800 UTC. They still played the XE anthem at
0405 as if they were signing off! This week, they've been
signing off around 0200. Station (with KNNZ-540) now carriers
Clippers BKB and Raiders FB, which may have something to do
with the varying schedule.
+XETIN has an automated system which inserts its own ID over
KNNZ's bumper music near the hour and half- hour. I suspect
that KNNZ does not air the XETIN IDs, and hence that anyone
hearing an XETIN ID is really hearing XETIN, but I can't be
sure until I get up to LA and listen to KNNZ for myself.
