Picked up an unexpected Channel Africa broadcast in the Chicago area 
on 24 Jan 1995 on 5.955 Mhz (splatter from VofTaiwan/Sackville relay 
at 5.950 was so bad that I could get the Johannesburg, South Africa 
broadcast better on 5.957 Mhz) from 0245 UTC until the interference 
became unbearable around 0320 UTC.  This reception on a Grundig YB400 
portable with no external antenna.  Not sure this qualifies as 
"hard-core-dx", but it was unusual for my location (at least on my DX 
budget!).
